I’m Wendy from Maple Bay. I’m 57 and I was diagnosed with Parkinsonism last fall after a cycling accident in January 2015 commuting to work on my bike in Victoria. I retired in June 2015 after over 35 years with the Ministry of Health.
I’ve always been really active and loved cycling and I’ve always wanted to ride Port Hardy to Victoria so this is the perfect opportunity! I’m excited to be riding with Parky’s Pedalers to raise awareness and money for Parkinson’s. Like a lot of people, I knew very little about PD until recently. We need to stay strong and keep hope that there will be cure for PD!
It’s always a good day when you can go for ride!
